• Defending The Anointing – Attempt To Solve Some Problems Before Escalating Them (Part 3)

Bishop Pride Sibiya has been in the trenches ministering the gospel for over two decades now.

He is the Founding President and Presiding Bishop of Glory Ministries. Amongst his many sons and daughters; I have been priviledged to directly manage and administer him since July 2013.

He triples up as my Lead Pastor, District Pastor; and Bishop of Glory Ministries. In addition to that, he has numerous outside engagements; both at ministerial and professional levels.

Bishop Pride Sibiya is a married man with three daughters. His immediate family broadens up to include his biological mother, sister siblings, in-laws, close relatives and many other dependents who also live with him.

It is a herculean task to manage a Kingdom General of that magnitude. It calls for much more dedication, service and sacrifice. What I am going to share in this article series is informed by both experience and revelation.

    3. Attempt To Solve Some Problems Before Escalating Them:  Church members will always come with problems. Some are genuine, some are petty; and some are meant to hoodwink the leaders of the church to entangle them into gossip circles. So what do you do when a member comes to you with a ministry or personal issue? Do you direct everything to your lead pastor? Do you take time to analyse the possible result and impact of doing that?
Defending The Anointing – Attempt To Solve Some Problems Before Escalating Them (Part 3)

It would be naïve to think that you are “assisting” your pastor by redirecting everything that you come across to him. In my practical case; Bishop Pride Sibiya has plenty on his plate already before I push and shove everything to his attention. Surely, hearing things like there is no power supply today, a chair has broken down, one of our codeless microphones does not have a battery, our hosting team did not bring enough water for the service, our ushering team needs some identity badges etc.

Such are petty administrative issues that a fully functional administrative board should be able to resolve without even the lead pastor knowing.

Your lead pastor should be notified of heavier challenges that require his authority and direction. For example; when a church member is admitted into hospital with a chronic illness, or when the church needs to upgrade its PA system. The levels of responsibility of a lead pastor depends on the size of the church he leads, the church policies and the maturity of his lieutenants.

Whatever the case, it is important to first weigh the magnitude of an issue before passing it on to your lead pastor. You may choke him with things that you are well able to resolve yourself without putting unnecessary pressure on him.
May God bless you in your service as you defend the anointing.
